What You Will Do:

The Certified Medical Assistant works directly with the physician completing administrative and clinical tasks during and after office visits.  The Certified Medical Assistant may provide patients with education and referrals, as directed by physicians.

  • Accurately enters New Patient Packet information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Retrieve all imaging and lab results for upcoming patients 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time.
  • Documents clinical data in the EMR as directed by and in collaboration with the treating provider.
  • Responds to physician’s requests for patient-related services such as test results, imaging, consults referrals, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with roles and responsibilities of front desk staff.
  • Collects vital signs, records results in medical records and rooms patients.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms keeping rooms neat, clean and fully stocked.
  • Actively maintains injectable inventory. Queues patients to proper inventory system and dispenses to providers as appropriate.
  • May prepare or assist with minor office procedures including but not limited to assessments, exam procedures, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, administration of approved medications and vaccines, other duties determined by local need and scope of practice.
  • Accesses all portal to import information into patient charts.
  • Administer injections.

What You’ll Have:

  • Valid Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or vocational education preferred.
  • One year experience working in a medical office setting.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR).
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
