Sheldon Solomon, M.D., MACR, FACP

Dr. Sheldon Solomon received his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He completed an internship at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and a residency at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital. He also completed a US Public Health Service research fellowship in the Section of Arthritis and Metabolic Bone Diseases at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Solomon is a Fellow of the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certifications in rheumatology, geriatrics, and bone densitometry. His past academic appointments include Chief of Rheumatology at Hahnemann Medical College and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is the founder of Arthritis, Rheumatic & Back Disease Associates.

He is an author of book chapters on connective tissue disease in critically ill patients, geriatric musculoskeletal problems of interest in gynecologists, and patient education about lupus. He has also published more than two dozen journal articles, abstract, reviews, and letters. He was formerly on the manuscript review board of Journal of the Medical Society of New Jersey. He has been named a top doctors numerous times, most recently in 2008 and 2009 in both New Jersey Magazine and South Jersey Magazine and 2010 in Philadelphia Magazine.

In 2021, Dr. Solomon was honored to be awarded a special recognition as a “Master” by the American College of Rheumatology in honor of his national expert status and many years treating/advocating for patients with rheumatologic conditions.  This title is the highest distinction possible in Rheumatology.  Dr. Solomon is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He has received many awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Arthritis Foundation and recently won the National Fibromyalgia Association Physician of the year Award 2008.
